MILWAUKEE HAS STOLEN MY HEART
Okay maybe it doesn’t out do NY but I loved every part of my Summerfest trip. It partially could have been because I got to see my best friend for the first time in 2 months (eep), but this city definitely out did any expectations I had + more.
So I took off for Milwaukee bright n early on Wednesday (aka the day after getting home from FL, such a good idea Ashley). My day was filled with driving so by the time I got to the city it was time for FOOD. Gabi (who I was visiting) took me to this cute rooftop cafe in the Third Ward. Now for anyone who doesn’t know me well enough by now, I LOVE rooftop restaurants. Like these are the future 100%. Having a rooftop restaurant automatically gives you an A+ in my book. If I have a pretty view with sparkling lights, I definitely do not care how good your food is, the restaurant is great.
Now as you can tell from above that statement is obviously true. I am eating a burger and my heart + tummy is happy as ever. This place called Benelux is perfect for late night dines (even tho the menu was shortened for Summeriest to assist the drunks, I am convinced the full menu would be great).
After indulging in the burger, my first night of Summeriest began. Gabi + I headed to the festival area around 10:30pm and after doing a walk through of about 394692347 youths we got to the sky glider (yes I went insta live on it) which took us to the one and only Miller stadium to hear t-pain sing the LAST HALF of “All I do is Win.” In the moment I was going crazy not going to lie, but seconds later the song was ending + everyone was leaving. So off Gabi + I go out the gates and up a hill to try and take some bikes (which I can’t ride) that happen to just be a surplus from the rental stand.
When the bike plan fails, we head to the War museum and hop into a taxi to go to Ma Fishers. By now it is about midnight & for some reason I pull the power move of ordering cheesecake + carrot cake in a dive bar (bad idea 0/10 do not rec). The night of bad decisions ends there and lets just say we are thankful that the rest of the week turned out much better.
The next day while Gabi is at work, Devon and I explore the Third Ward. I wore my favorite new yellow wrap skirt matched with a baby blue crinkled crop for a comfy cute look(which went from morning to night pictured below). The public market was my favorite part of the ward. It was filled with seafood, cheeses, fresh salads, literally anything you could ever imagine at your disposal (too bad I had already ate).
Summeriest round 2 (final round, Summerfest 2 Ashley 0) included Devon + I taking on the sky glider again and all 3 of us trying to touch Joe Jonas.
DNCE was the show we decided we had to see last night (even tho we had to figure out who they were at first) and wow I have never seen so many girls fan girl over the second best Jonas Brother. Now don’t get me wrong I can jam to Cake by the Ocean, but commmme on a song about a toothbrush? Somehow we found our way through the middle of the stands and Joe Jonas was running his happy self through the crowd. I didn’t get to touch him sadly, but I’m not going to lie I kinda wanted to.
Overall is was a VERY eventful week to say the least + I am very happy summer is almost over so the gang can get back together for the long haul. Summerfest may have kicked my butt this time, but I WILL BE BACK (for more than 2 days).
Over n out,
The Haute Bandit
