Hey there guys,
Long time no chat.
Well if you have been following me along on my instagram (@ashleynordyke) then you MUST know, I have recently returned from a wonderful, retail-filled weekend in the city.
Yep you probably guessed it from the title, I spent my syllabus week in the city. Any regrets? None. Was it as much fun? Maybe. Would I do it again? ABSOLUTELY.
The weekend of my stay was the glorious NRF student conference, which I have now had the pleasure of attending two years in a row. Each year I notice my confidence grows and this time it somehow managed to get me to volunteer for a finance game AND win, in front of 800+ students/employers.
Enough about the conference, lets get down to what really matters:
What did I pack:
Well, judging by the amount of shopping I did, you probably didn’t know I could ONLY TRAVEL WITH A CARRY ON.
You read that right.
ONLY A CARRY ON
Some may take defeat, but here are my 5 helpful tips for getting the job done. Kinda. .
1.Divide your suite case in half – Pack pants on bottom, then shirts (they are easier to squeeze)
2.On the opposite side – pack your shoes (think logically, are you going to wear those pumps?) Pack your beauty essentials on top, this will avoid leakage and give you easy access.
3.NEVER UNZIP THE EXTENDER – when packing to go to your destination, never let yourself unzip the extender. Leave this zipped so when you buy things on your trip you have room to bring them back!!
4. Take advantage of pockets – every suit case has them. Why we don’t feel inclined to use them, I don’t know. But USE THEM.
5. Say YES to plastic bags – You absolutely can NOT carry your bulky makeup + jewelry bags in these situations. Yes they may be cute, but lets get real. SO UNNECESSARY
Now that you have these 5 wonderful tips, let’s take a look at my favorite outfit that made the cut for this small space.
OF COURSE WE ARE GOING TO TALK ABOUT THIS OUTFIT
This dress is an absolute score my best-friend Gabi discovered @ Free People
The collar and synched sleeves scream professional enough to hire me, but fun + flirty enough to wear out for the night. I am obsessed with the synched waist that is guaranteed to accentuate any curves.
The dress paired PERFECTLY with my new favorite scalloped wine scrappy’s.
Hopefully these travel tips have encouraged you to book your next flight. Check out the shopping links to this outfit down below, but for now. . .
Stay adventurous,
